The Studio

A brand should feel inevitable — like it could never have been anything else.

Any studio can promise world-class design and we too aim for that, but few can deliver a brand identity that's genuinely rooted in Arabic culture — because they weren't built inside it. 622 was. Founded in Dubai in 2007 by Fouad Marzouk and Julian Aquilini, the studio spent twelve years at the heart of the Arab world before moving to Paris in 2019.

Three things set our work apart from anyone in Europe: cultural intelligence, typographic mastery, and exclusive access to the world's greatest Arabic calligrapher.

622 is the exclusive European and North African representative of Wissam Shawkat — the world's most acclaimed contemporary Arabic calligrapher. Every calligraphy commission and arabization goes through him. This access is unmatched anywhere in the region.
